Alpine Flora and Fauna Various animals and plants, only slightly darker than the paper, look like camouflaged; it is nearly white on white. The mimicry has failed; the poorly camouflaged "species" are revealed by the captions. |
|
Here are these "species": Twinflower, Wolf, Gentian, Mountain Hare, Alpine Ibex, Marmot, Garden Gnome, Skier, Alpine Pasqueflower, Lizards, William Tell, Bearded Vulture, Ptarmigan, Mountain Pine, Edelweiss. This silk-screen is a continuation of the The Animals of the Emperor I; it's more detailed commentary is also relevant here. Moreover, this work plays with the perception of forms which hardly appear on the background, with the changes according to the view angle and with the proximity visual perception of forms and the intellective reading of the captions.
